ELLINGTON, DR. ERIC PATRICK - age 57 of Maryville, died suddenly Friday, April 4, 2003 in Atlanta. He recently retired from his practice at Blount Memorial Hospital where he served as the pathologist for 15 years. He received a BS degree from Emory University and MD degrees from Medical College of Georgia and Emory University. He completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Greeneville General Hospital and his pathology residency at Emory University. He had been active in several local organizations promoting "Right for Life." Dr. Ellington was a member and deacon of Maryville First Baptist Church where he was very active in many ministries. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse W. Ellington. Survivors: wife, Karen Whittle Ellington mother, Betty Ellington of Decatur, Georgia aunt, Ruth Webster of Cornelia, Georgia uncle, Charles Ellington of Lafayette, Georgia father-in-law & mother-in-law, Dr. & Mrs. Herb Whittle of Tellico Village. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003 at Maryville First Baptist Church. Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. John Sharp and Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Mustard Seed Fund, 202 West Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37801.
