Wilson, Mary Ruth Bridges –age 72, of South Knoxville, passed away Monday, September 7, 2009. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and of Golden Circle Sunday School Class. Mary Ruth was a retired home economics teacher for 15 years at Rule High School and a vocational child care teacher for 15 years at West High School. She loved her family and friends and was devoted to them. Preceded in death by husband, J.E. Wilson; parents, Roy E. and Donna Alyne Bridges.
Survivors
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Sammy Cox; daughter, Susan Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Alycen Wilson; grandchildren, Meghan Cox and fiancé, Josh Cook, Morgan Cox, Jacob and Meredith Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Williams; sister-in-law, June Hubbs; special nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Dr. A. Robert Blacky for your love and support; and to the numerous caregivers that have graciously given their time throughout Mary Ruth’s extended illness.
Service
Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Friday, September 11, 2009 for an 11:00 AM entombment service, Dr. Hollie Miller and Rev. Charlie McNutt officiating. Memorials may be made to The Living Christmas Tree or to “The Story Continues Building Fund”, c/o Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
