McCONKEY, JOE F. - age 88 of 914 Head of the Creek Road Sweetwater, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 27, 1999 at Sweetwater Hospital after a brief illness. He was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Fannie Lou McConkey; parents, John and Jesse McConkey; brothers, Earl and Lloyd McConkey. Survivors include daughter, Evelyn McConkey; sisters Louise Gray, Mary Rhodes; brothers, Homer McConkey, and L.C. McConkey, all of Sweetwater; several nieces and nephews. The body is a t Kyker Funeral Home Sweetwater where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday with funeral services to follow at 8p.m. in Kyker Funeral home with Rev. Clinton Riddle officiating. Family will meet 10:45 a.m. at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park for an 11 a.m. interment. Kyker Funeral Home in charge.
