McConkey, Erma Elizabeth (Granny), age 95, of the Halls Community passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Mercy, St. Mary’s Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl McConkey; son, Pete McConkey; daughters, Ruby Vineyard Tindell and Liz Clevenger and infant grandson. Granny is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Mary McConkey; daughter, Eileen Eubanks; daughter-in-law, Helen McConkey; son-in-law, James Clevenger all of Halls and sister, Evelyn Abramson of New Waverly, TN. She also leaves to cherish her memory, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike McConkey, Wes McConkey, Buster Vineyard, Richard Vineyard, Jimmy Eubanks, and James Clevenger. Honorary pallbearer is Milas Stooksbury. Granny requested in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery, P.O. Box 70283, Knoxville, TN 37938.
