James F. Cureton, age 66 of Yukon Rd., Talking Rock, Ga., formerly of Newport, Tn, passed away Tuesday, November 20th, at his residence. James was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church in Ellijay, Ga. He was a graduate of Clarksville Technical College with a degree in refrigeration and electrical. James worked as a maintenance supervisor at several different carpet mills. James was born August 10th, 1941 to his late parents Lee Roy and Ruby Worley Cureton in Newport, Tn, Cocke County. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sanford Cureton and sister, Sara Ciocco. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Doc Smith and Tammy and Keith Crump of Elljay, Ga.; grandchildren, Devin, Keila, Kali and Drake Crump, Tyler and Chase Smith; brothers and sisters, Mary Keller and Preston Cureton of Parrottsville, Tn., Ida Baxter, Judy Harriston, Brenda Evans, Alton Cureton and Tony Cureton all of Newport, Tn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 from the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church in Ellijay, Ga., with Rev. Alan Cain, Rev. Lamar Beason, Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Carroll Holbrooks officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Logan Funeral Home in Ellijay, Ga. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of Darrell Sanford at P.O. Box 601, Ellijay, Ga. 30540.
