Bobby D. Copeland, age 74, a resident of Cleveland, TN and a former resident of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 24, 2006 in a local hospital. He was a member of the Thompson Springs Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a lifelong mason. He was retired from the Ferro Corporation where he served as a supervisor and was also a former employee of the Polk County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Copeland was the son of the late C. H. and Ora Lea Hardin Copeland and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edith Copeland; sisters: Kathleen Sims, Louise Copeland, Dorthy (Dot) Bepler, Mildred Cartwright and Joann Ogle; brothers, Franklin Copeland, Calvin Copeland, Henry Copeland.
He is survived by his four children: Linda Vess of Augusta, GA, Bobby Copeland of Cleveland, Ohio, Mark Copeland and Dustin Copeland both of Cleveland, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Grace Copeland of Cleveland, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Don Keith of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Rita Copeland of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Hooker officiating. A military honors service will conclude the service. The Polk County Sheriff’s Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
