She was born in Greenbriar Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Seymour. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Marvin E. Hood, and parents William and Polly Whaley, daughter-in-law, Martha LaVera Hood. Survivors: Daughters and Sons-in-law: Delores and Charles Edward Johnson Shirley and Cleve Nichols Sons and Daughter-in-law: Don and Peggy Hood Lonnie Hood 11 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren Funeral service 7:30 PM Monday at Providence Baptist Church, Seymour with Rev. W.A. Galyon, Rev. Troy Cody and Rev. Dallas Gibson officiating. Interment 11 AM Tuesday in Providence Cemetery (Blount County). Mrs. Hood’s grandsons will serve as Pall Bearers. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 PM Monday at Providence Baptist Church. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
