FORMER STATE REPRESENTATIVE, FRED A. HUFFSTETLER, DIES
Fred A. Huffstetler, 88, a Blount County farmer and builder who served+eight years in the Tennessee Legislature, died Saturday at Blount Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Huffstetler served as a state representative for two terms from 1967 to 1974, when he did not seek reelection. He was a director of the Blount County Farm Bureau for 18 years and was a trustee of Fort Loudoun Electric Co-op in!Madisonville for 24 years. He was a former director and president of Blount Mutual Insurance Co.
Huffstetler was a Scottish Rite Mason and was the oldest living member of Carpenters Campground United Metnodist Church, where he had been a trustee and chairman of the building committee when the present church was built in 1949 following a fire. He also had been president of the Houston Station Community Club.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at McCammon Ammons ! Funeral Home in Maryville, with the funeral to be at 8 tonight at the funeral+home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Carpenters Campground Cemetery.
