BIVENS, CHARLES WAYNE - age 68, of Kodak passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served in the US. Navy, worked in construction for many years, was a member of the Masons, Flagman at several stock car race tracks in the area, and was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by wife, Judy Bivens; brothers, Ronnie and Perry Ray Bivens; sister, Janice Bivens; parents, Wayne and Emma Bivens. Survived by: children, Carol and husband Buster Taylor, and Milford Bivens and fianc?e Pam Webb; grandchildren, Charlie Taylor and Anthony and wife Travin Taylor; sisters, Girtrude Levassur, Carrie and husband Howard Bales, Sylvia Evans, and Reva and husband Tom Davis; and brothers, Randall and wife Thelma Bivens and Verlin Bivens. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Robin Henry for helping with the care of Charlie and to the Doctors and Nurses in the I.C.U. units at Fort Sanders Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home, with Rev. Alex Phipps officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville is honored to serve the Bivens family. (637-7955)
