Claude Worley , age 79, Surgoinsville died Friday, August 27, 2004 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital after an extended illness.

He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. He was a decorated Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired construction superintendent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Canada and Alethia Worley ; brothers, Vestal, Andrew, Woodall and Pink and sister, Nell Worley .

He is survived by his wife, Iva Drinnon Worley ; daughters, Linda Crum and husband, Charlie, Rogersville, Brenda Brawner and husband, William, Knoxville; son, Rickey and Shelia Worley , Surgoinsville; grandchildren, Chris Bloomer, Surgoinsville, Jeremy Bloomer, Rogersville and Victory and William Brawner II, Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and David Bloomer, Rogersville; sister, Macie Fortner, Knoxville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Colboch-Price Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Fain Arnold officiating. Hawkins County Color Guard conducted military honors Monday, August 30, 2004 at The Drinnon Cemetery on Sweet Creek Road, Edison.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville was in charge of arrangements.
