HAMILTON, ELMER W. "POPPY" - age 87, of South Knoxville passed away November 10, 2007 at Hillcrest South. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to go often with his son and grandsons. He was born in the Lawnville area of Kingston and was well known in that community. Elmer loved sports and coached baseball. Preceded in death by wife, Ruby Jo and parents Walter & Cilla Hamilton; brother, George Hamilton; sisters, Kate, Lee, and Ruby. Survivors include daughter, Judy Hamilton; daughter & son-in-law: Linda and Sam Hood; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Hamilton; grandchildren, Jody, Karen, Jeff, Misti, Matt, Jamie, Keenan and Kasey; great-grandchildren, Chad, Lyndsi, Morgan, Jeremy, Stephanie, Caroline, Jalen, Harper, Carter, Mattie, Alice, and Joe; great-great-grandson, Jackson; brother, Ed Hamilton of Harriman, Gerval Hamilton of Knoxville, and W.H. Hamilton of Kingston. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday, November 12, 2007 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 8 PM Monday at Berry Chapel with Rev.Joe Lewis and grandson Jody Hood officiating. Interment will be at 10AM Tuesday, at Stock Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
