Earl Giffin, 83, was born January 25, 1928 in Blount County, TN and died March 7, 2011 in Maryville, TN of cardiac issues. He served twice in the United State Army, during World War II and again during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum Company in La Grange, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Trula Giffin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Margaret Yearout Giffin; brothers Sam of Marseilles, IL and Bob of Roanoke, AL, sisters; Virginia Loring of Maryville, TN, Dorothy Walker of California, Betty Giffin of Chicago, IL, sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Paul Giacolona of Cedar Lake, IN; godson Kevin O’Hara of Maryville, TN plus numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at their convenience Wednesday, March 9 from 8am until 5pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery at 1pm on Thursday, March 10. Special thanks go to the staffs of Sterling House, Asbury Place and Brakebill Nursing facilities. Donations to the Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice in lieu of memorial flowers are preferred by the family.
