Brooks, Keeble Howard, 93, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 28, 2008, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, one week before her 94th birthday. Keeble was born in Pineville, KY, and was raised in Middlesboro, KY. She participated in many pageants, and in spite of being very small, she was elected “Most Athletic” in High School. She married Eugene Robin Brooks, her football hero, and they raised their family in Knoxville. They lived in Atlanta, GA for forty years, and she returned to Knoxville in 2003, to make her home with her daughter, Gwenlyn Brooks McCarter. Keeble was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her uplifting spirit, wonderful wit and sense of humor, her love of sports, fishing, flowers, and family. The twinkle in her eyes and precious smile will be missed. She was predeceased by parents, husband, precious daughter Twila Blevins Lowe, grandson Robin McCarter, 1 brother and 3 sisters.

She is survived by: daughter, Gwen, grandchildren, Phil and Laura Blevins, Tim and Lisa Blevins, Craig McCarter, Trula McCarter, and David Rowe; special friend, Larry Smith; great-grandchildren, Katie, Brooks, Gabrielle, Ariana Blevins, Paul McCarter, Michael (Jessica) Shannon, Julia Shannon, David Shannon; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; and 12 very special nieces and nephews.
