Spangler, Robert Lynn “Dood”, beloved husband, Father, Granddaddy, and friend, went home to be with his Savior early Sunday morning, just in time for the morning Praise Service. Bob was a member of Island Home Baptist Church for 45 years, where he served faithfully as an usher and a deacon. Bob served his country with the United States Army in the Korean War. He married his wife of 49 years, Betty June Daugherty and lived in South Knoxville where they brought up their family. He retired from Flav-o-Rich Dairies after 38 years as a salesman. Bob loved to read, watch the History Channel, and weave “tall tales” of exploits undertaken in his younger years. He loved UT Football, having a smoke on the porch, and the family pets. He also loved his neighbors, church family, and playing with his grandchildren who were the delight of his life. He never met a stranger. He will be missed more than words can express. Bob was preceded in death by his infant daughter Amy Lynn Spangler, his parents, Archie and Ollie Spangler, and his sister Katherine Laugherty. The fact that they met him at the Golden Gates gives his family peace and comfort.
Survivors
He leaves behind his wife Betty; brothers, Don and Paul Spangler; sons and daughters-in-law Alan and Ginger Spangler; Eric and Melissa Spangler; daughter and son-in-law Beth and David Hatfield; daughter, Sara Spangler; three grandchildren, Kelly Ryan and Erica Paige Spangler, and Sallie Frances Hatfield.
