Sellers celebrates 91st birthday today
Geneva Amburn Sellers will celebrate her 91st birthday today. A party will be held at a later date for family and friends.
She was born Oct. 24, 1916, one of nine children born to the late James H. and Tishie Clark Amburn. She was married to the late Ernest Sellers.
Her family includes children Gracie Harpe and Jack Sellers, both of Maryville, and Jerry Sellers, of Kennesaw, Ga. She has four grandchildren, Mike Harpe, of Bolingbrook, Ill., Kye Todd, of Dothan, Ala., Dawn Sellers and Danille Pope, both of Kennesaw, Ga. She has two great-grandchildren, Brandon Harpe and Banks Todd, both of Dothan, Ala., and three great-great-grandchildren, Kyler and Kaden Harpe, of Dothan, Ala., and Ave Pope, of Kennesaw, Ga. She is the sister of Claude Amburn and Vernell McKeehan, both of Maryville, and Lucille Rouch, of New Lenox, Ill.

Sellers to observe 92nd birthday Friday
Geneva Amburn Sellers will celebrate her 92nd birthday Friday. A party will be held at a later date with family and friends.
Mrs. Sellers was born Oct. 24, 1916, one of nine children born to the late James H. and Tishie Clark Amburn. She was married to the late Ernest Sellers. Her family includes children Gracie Harpe and Jack Sellers, both of Maryville, and Jerry Sellers, of Kennesaw, Ga. Geneva Amburn Sellers, loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, just six days short of her 93rd birthday. She was born October 24, 1916 in Monroe County, Tennessee the oldest of nine children. Mrs. Sellers was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and the Mountain View Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Sellers; parents, James and Tishie Amburn; brothers, Roy, Claude,Clarence, Otis, Haskel, and T.J. Amburn. She is survived by her daughter, Gracie Harpe; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Sellers both of Maryville and Jerry Sellers and wife Cathy, of Kennesaw, Georgia; sisters, Lucille Roach and Vernell McKeehan both of Illinois; grandchildren, Michael Harpe and wife, Janet, of Maryville, Kaye H. Todd of Dothan, Alabama, Dawn S. Baker, and Danielle S. Pope both of Kennesaw, Georgia; great-grandchildren; Brandon Harpe, Banks Todd, Daulton and Ava Pope, and Alex and Austin Baker; and great-great-grandchildren, Kyler and Kaydan Harpe. A very special thank you to the staff of Liberty Assisted Living and all the departments of Blount Memorial Hospital, especially all three shifts on Four South. Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating. The interment service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
