Member of Centenary Baptist Church, serving as a faithful member. Retired from ALCOA & member of the 25 year club. Preceded in death by parents, Walter & Florence Whitehead; brothers, Bea & Lewis Whitehead; sisters, Mina Self, Carrie & Oma Whitehead. Survivors: wife of 63 years, Ila Hearon Whitehead; daughters & sons-in-law, Lorene & Don Hill, Martha & John Baldwin, Sue & Bill Patty, all of Maryville, Alma Lindsey of Townsend; grandchildren, Carl & Stanley Swaney, Lynn & Edward Lindsey, Debbie Cochran, Kim Boring, Alvin & Terry Baldwin, & Sean Patty; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Howard Whitehead of Maryville; sisters, Lona Gardner & Molly Buchanan, both of Maryville; several nieces & nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday May 3, 2000, Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Dixon, Rev. Sanders Whaley officiating.
