Blazier, David French "Grand Daddy" of South Knox county went home to be with his Lord on August 28, 2010 at 8:56 AM at Fort Sanders Hospital. He was a long time active member of New Salem United Methodist Church and friend to Beeler Chapel United Methodist Church of Washburn and an active lay speaker in the Holston Conference of United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer in Knox County Rescue Squad for many years and founder of Blaze Fence Company of Knoxville and Mulch Interprises of Tenn in Washburn. A former employee of Fulton Sylphon Company and Grow Chemical Company of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as Oak Ridge Y-12, X-10 and K-25. He was an active member of The Grange, also active in the restoration of former Governor John Sevier Home, "Marble Springs". He was preceded in death by first wife, Ora Mae "Cruze" Blazier; father, William Blazier and mother , Cora "French" Blazier; brother, James Blazier and sister Helen Houser. He is survived by loving wife, Georgia "Hickman" Blazier; daughter, Carol Massey and husband Jim; son, Dwight Blazier and wife Connie; three grandchildren, Barbara Myers, Latasha Blazier Wehrle and husband Michael, and Eric Blazier; great grandchcildren; Olivia Grace and Jacob Isaiah Wehrle; brother, Kenneth and wife Carolyn of Jasper, Ga.; sisters, Irene Burchell, Geneva Jennings, Stella Myers of Bentonville, Ark., Wilma Johnson and Reba Ivens and many loving friends, nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Eight North Nursing Staff at Ft. Sanders and Doctors Rivers, Kropilak, Pollach, Braden, Slutzker, Adams and Ibach and Covenant Health Hospice. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Monday August 30, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM with graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery Tuesday, August 31 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Salem United Methodist Church, 2147 Tipton Station Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920 or Covenant Hospice, 3001 Lake Brook Boulevard, Suite 101, Knoxville, Tennessee 37901.
