Elsie Edith Effler Davis, After touching so many lives with love and laughter, passed away after an extended illness at the age of 70. She worked and retired from Blount Memorial Hospital’s dietary department and was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, William Clark Davis, parents, Mae and Clark Effler, and brothers, George and Rex Effler; She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William “Billy” Davis Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Mildred Davis; granddaughters, Lydia, Kristin, Edith Mae Davis, and Samantha Lee; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Frank Esslinger of Townsend, Betty and Jon Wilson, Joan and Jerry Russell, all of Maryville, sisters, Polly Myers and Annie Conners, both of Maryville, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ike and Janice Effler of Townsend and Ronald and Brenda Effler of Crevecouer, Illinois and sister-in-law, Janice Effler of Townsend, a multitude of nieces and nephews, special friends; Lynda McCollum and Robin Lee, special brother-in-law, Larry Davis. Family and friends will assemble for a Graveside service and interment on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Law’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Harrison Hill will be officiating the services. Friends may call at their convenience after 11:00 am Monday in the East Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000, www.smithmortuary.com
