ROGERSVILLE -- Virginia Carol Teaster , age 49, passed away Wednesday at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Burem Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed being outdoors with friends and loved ones. She was a devoted wife, very caring mother, and loving grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Emory Buttry.
She is survived by her loving husband: Arvil Eugene Teaster of the home; her mother: Elsie Mae Buttry; two brothers: Terry Joe Buttry and wife, Tammy, and Jason Buttry; three sisters: Georgia Smith, and husband, Bob, Nancy Mullins and husband, Bryan, and Ellen Davis and husband, Jerry; her children: Travis Taylor, Becky Gulley and husband, Brian, Justin Slater and wife, Brittany, Lisa Epps and husband, Jeff, Jason Teaster and wife, Becky, and Kenny Teaster ; her grandchildren: Matthew Gulley, Lucas Gulley, Breanna Gulley, Whitney Hurst, Ashleigh Golden, Madison Gulley, Weston Gulley, Hunter Slater, Conner Slater, Austin Epps, Emma Epps, Sarah Epps, Zed Teaster , and Jonah White; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville with the funeral service following at 5 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Fuzz Bradley and Jeff Epps will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Highland Cemetery.
