Jack D. Patterson, age 79 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at his home. He served with the U. S. Air Force from 1953-1957 stationed at Thule Air Force Base, Greenland. He was actively involved with Boy Scouts as Troop leader, board of Smoky Mountain Council and Eagle Scout review board, Jaycees, where he especially enjoyed delivering packages for the Empty Pantry fund. Recently he collected food for the Community Food Connection. He worked at City of Maryville Water Department; ALCOA, Inc. 1962-73; Murphy Motor Manor; owner of Patterson Motor Homes; Foretravel; and retired in 2004.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Patterson; son-in-law, Chris Breeden; parents, Grady and Mae Patterson; brother, Clarence L. Patterson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn “Totsie” Patterson; son, Gary D. Patterson and wife, Amy; son, Jeff R. Patterson; daughters, Lisa P. Garcia and husband, Oscar, Suzi P. Breeden; stepson, Alwyn Staley and wife, Sara; grandchildren, Kathryn Patterson, Ken Patterson, Isis Garcia, Nicholas Breeden, Wyn Staley, Juliet Staley; great-grandchild, Judah Patterson; sisters, Dorothy Mills, Blanche “Pete” Clevenger, Sarah Alice Boring, Judy Nolan; brothers-in-law, John Bagwell, Ralph Bagwell, Jere Ingram and wife, Joy.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m.. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
A private family burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Empty Fund or to the Donna Landgren Community Food Connection 977-4400.
