William Earl “Peanut” Pope Jr., age 37 of Sevierville, passed away Sunday September 30, 2007 after in a Nashville hospital. Peanut was of the Baptist faith and had attended Hurst Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dorothy and Ralph Hamell, Thomas Pope, and Beatrice Odom.
Survivors include his mother: Nancy Elaine Pope of Pasadena, TX; father William Earl Pope Sr. and loving stepmother Freda Pope; children: Earl Pope III of Starkville, MS, Mandy Lynn Pope of Starkville, MS, and Jonathan Pope of Sevierville; Fiancé: Alicia Burdon; sisters: Tina Fox and husband Tim of Sevierville, Mitzy Pope and Fiancé Tima Lawson, Dina Pope and Fiancé Bo McCoy of Sevierville; brothers: Tyron Pope of Deerpark, TX, Ralph Pope of Statesboro, GA, Waylon ray “Chipper” Pope of Sevierville; special niece: Kendall Elane Fox; and nephew: Isaiah Ray Pope; special aunts and uncle: Jerry and Kathlen Ogle and Kahty Hamell; also several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday October 3, 2007 in the chapel of the Rawlings Funeral Home form 12:00 until 1:30 PM. At the family’s request a private graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation. Family and friends may send their condolences through our website:
