SMYRE, ZELLA McDANIEL - age 103, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, December 20, 1998, at Holston Health Care. Born November 28, 1895, in Loudon County. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Knoxville. Preceded in death by: husband, Charlie Orin, Sr.; daughter, Thelma Queen; sons Billy Eugene and Curtis Smyre; and her parents. Survivors: daughters and son-in-law, Maxine Taliaferro, Seymour, Katherine and David Cowdin, Knoxville; sons and daughter-in-law, Charlie O. (Bud) Smyre, Denison, Texas, Ray and June Smyre, Seymour; beloved daughter-in-law, Fern Smyre, Halls; beloved son-in-law, J.R. Queen, Athens; ten grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 13 great, great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Hall, Logansport, Ind. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday for graveside services at 10 a.m., Rev. Louis Bronch officiating. Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel in charge.
