James "Bob" Robert Robinson, age 70, of Friendsville, died Sunday, September 5, 2004, at University of Tennessee Hospital Knoxville. Known as "Roundman'' to family and friends. Member of Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He was retired from Vulcan Materials after 49 years of service. Preceded in death by father and mother, Quince and Bernice Robinson; stepmother, Lucy Robinson; brother, Tom Robinson; sisters, Imogene Brooks, Rene Franklin, Irene Cunningham; son-in-law, Vergil Clark; and father and mother-in-law, Ed and Mabel Tucker. Survivors include: wife of 47 years, Betty Robinson; children, Daniel and Brandy Robinson of Maryville, Tony and Debbie Robinson, Larry Robinson, James Robinson and Lisa Russell, Tammy and Doug Murphy, Vickie Clark and Don McGhee, all of Friendsville; grandchildren, Randi, Robbie, Kenna, Tyler, Heather, Nicholas, Elijah, Tasha, Ivy, and Shannon; brothers and sisters, Leon and Wanda Robinson of Chattanooga, Gene and Mildred Robinson of Maryville, Marie Burchfield, Nadine and Raymond Radford and Frank and Teresa Robinson, all of Greenback; many nieces and nephews; special friends of the family, Candy Robinson, J. J. Roberson, the Vulcan family and the Tennessee Tigers family. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2004, at Grandview Cemetery for graveside service and interment with the Rev. Larry Teaster officiating.
