Maxie “Mudd” Ambrose, age 89, of Chestnut Hill, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, were she had made her home since becoming ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Ambrose; and son, Jimmy Ambrose; father and mother, Joe and Paralee Denton; two brothers, Ernest and Earl Denton; one sister, Tex Owenby. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Tom Batson; two grandsons, Ronnie and Randy Batson of Chestnut Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Arthur Baxter of Newport; two sisters-in-law, Mable Denton and Ellen Amdrose; special friends, Imogene Phillips, L.C. and Lois Batson; also many special nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Clark and Pastor Mary Parson officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Hills Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
