BARBEE, BEULAH PICKENS (BEA) - born April 6, 1929, age 73 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospice. She was a dedicated employee with the Department of Energy for 34 years. She was a member of Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church, Acacia Chapter #362 Order of Eastern Star, Abdiel Temple #147, and Daughters of the Nile, Knoxville, Tenn. Preceded in death by: parents, Samuel and Christine Cusick Pickens two brothers, Samuel and James Pickens two sisters, Mary Pickens and Johnnie Pickens Johnson one nephew, W.H. Butler III. Survived by: husband, Ben Barbee two daughters, Susan Barbee Olsen and son-in-law Micheal and Brenda Kay Barbee three sisters, Rachel Pickle, Martha Mize, and Cusick Clow three special nieces, Francis Harper, Janie Porter and Marguerite Johnson. She also leaves many other relatives and very special friends. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 26 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge, Tenn. for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers will be member of the R.O.W. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Go-Kart Unit of Kerbela Temple. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Shrine Hospitals, c/o The Kerbela Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 868, Knoxville, TN 37901-0868 or to Sunshine Leisure Services, c/o Sunshine Industries, 3000 N. Central, Knoxville, TN 37917 or St. Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
