He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired executive from Avco Corporation, Aerospace Structure Division, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was an avid exercise advocate and taught water exercise classes at the Donelson YMCA during his retirement years. He was preceded in death by grandson, Eric Wallace; sister, Thelma Davis; brother, John Wallace. Survivors include his: Wife of 68 years: O’Lean Daughter and son-in-law: Dottie and Ralph Paden Son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Patsy Wallace Daughter: Donna Berg; Grandchildren: Rick Bohner and wife Connie, Debbie Bohner Young and husband Carter, Alex Bohner and wife Mandy, Jennifer Wallace Hall and husband Greg, Tina Wallace, Wendy Bledsoe Payne and husband David, Will Bledsoe, and Jonathan Bledsoe and wife Jenny 12 great grandchildren Sisters: Earline Beech and Corrine Kendrick of Hattiesburg, Mississippi Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, January 25, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. CST. The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Wallace Writing Center, Carson-Newman College, C-N Box 72017, Jefferson City, Tennessee 37760. The Wallace family wants to express special appreciation to the staff of Sevier County Healthcare Center and Atchley Funeral Home.
