Willodene Gibson Mills, age 88 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007.
Graduate of Everett High School and East Tennessee Teachers College, E.T.S.U. Teacher at Walland Elementary School and Tiny Tots Kindergarten. Long time active member of Broadway Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees. She was a member and officer of Blount Hills Home Demonstration Club. Preceded in death by parents: Dannie Estelle Webb Gibson and Otha A. Gibson Sr.; step-mother, Dewey Mae Royalston Gibson; sisters: Helen (Mrs. Frank) Kerr, Juanita (Mrs. Fred) Gerber and Margaret (Mrs. James) Young; brothers: Otha Gibson Jr. and Daniel Clay Gibson. Survived by: husband of 65 years, Avery Mills; daughter, Rosalie Rogers of Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Raymond O. Smith III of Maryville; grandchildren, Lori Rogers Jackson and Kimberly Rogers Schwendinger of Georgia, Laura Smith Wheatley and Aaron Raymond Smith of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Brett Belk, Trey Jackson, Regan Jackson, Seth Jackson, Ashby Schwendinger, Aaron Schwendinger and Annie Schwendinger all of Georgia; brothers, James C. Gibson of Nashville and William J. Gibson of Bristol; many loving nieces and nephews. Much appreciation to her extended family, Chad and Polly Evans, who faithfully attended her. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Brown officiating. Interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family request, for those who wish, memorials be made to Broadway Baptist Church 2329 E.
