Webster, Allen Wendell age 73 of Mascot, passed away at 10:20 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2009 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. He was a carpenter by trade and now with the master carpenter for eternity. He served as head deacon and Sunday School Director at the beloved church that he loved, Roseberry Baptist Church. He was a chaplain of the Gideon International Organization. His sons, daughters in law and grandchildren were inspired by his Christian life example, teaching and love. Preceded in death by father and mother, Ted and Ethel Webster; brother, Paul Webster; sister in law, Faye Webster. Survived by devoted and loving wife of 53 wonderful years, Edith Rhea Webster; children, Mike Webster and wife Teri, Greg Webster and wife Laura, Glenn Webster and wife Tonya; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lindsay, Ryan, Bethany, Destin, Alex and Carley; brother Ralph and wife Jewell; special cousin and business associate, J.V. Webster and wife Frances; several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. Sunday at Roseberry Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Kenny Shinlever and Rev. David Webster officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 P.M. Monday at Roseberry Cemetery for the interment at 1:00 P.M. Active Pallbearers will be Ryan, J.V., Alex and Bill Webster, Jack Williams, Larry Joe Smith, R.J. Rose and Rudy Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Short, Gregg Morgan, Men of Elizabeth’s Sunday School Class, Deacons of Roseberry Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Roseberry Baptist Church, 2920 Roseberry Road, Mascot, TN. 37806 or to Gideon International Organization PO Box 140800 Nashville, TN. 37214.
