BLAZIER, MAYFORD EUGENE - age 83 of South Knoxville passed away Sunday Morning, June 8, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Mayford owned Knox County school buses for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mayford was an inspiration to all and touched the hearts of those who met him. He was an avid UT football, Men's basketball and Lady Vols fan. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; parents, John and Trula Blazier; brothers, John Blazier, Jr. and William Randolph Blazier; son-in-law, James L. Baxter. Survived by his children, Donald E. Blazier, Terry Blazier and wife Linda, Gail Blazier and Sharon Baxter; grandchildren, Michelle White and husband Brandon, Crystal Baxter and Patrick Baxter; great grandchildren, Braxton White and a great granddaughter on the way, McKinley Claire; sister-in-law, Bernice Blazier; several special nieces and nephews; special angel that took special care of both Mr. and Mrs. Blazier, Billie Proffitt and husband John, extended family, Jen & Todd, Melodie, Tyler, Johnny & Amber, Marley, Henry, Terry & Todd, Marty "Ms. Fu Fu" Pyle; special friends, Mary Ruth Johnson, Sharon & Phil Hatcher, Loren & Diane Stafford, Bill Lawson and Jean "Buddy" Burnett. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Baptist Hospice for the Loving care that they gave Mr. Blazier. The family asks that friends and family visit Mr. Blazier's home at their convenience. Also, the family will receive friends at Highland South Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Graveside services will be held in Highland South Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Gregg officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet in the cemetery by 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
