RULE, RALPH EUGENE JR. "BUDDY" - age 76, of Knoxville, greeted Jesus in Heaven, where his loved ones were waiting for him, on Sunday March 4, 2012 at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Mascot. Ralph was a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, a former part time Knox County Sheriff's Deputy, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine of the Kerbela Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by: first wife Glenna Faye Hankins Rule; parents Ralph and Ella Rule; stepmother Ruth Glasscock Rule; sisters Helen Kuhn and Carol Berry. Survivors include: wife Jenny Rule; children: Donna Kay Blazer, and Ralph E. "Sonny" and wife Cindy Rule; grandchildren: Caitlin Blazer, Jesse Rule, and Madeline Rule; great-granddaughter Jazlyn Morgan; step-children: Daniel and wife Teresa Ford, Eddie Ford, and Barry and wife Pricilla Ford; step-grandchildren: Jonathan and wife Megan Ford, Stephen and wife Heather Ford, and David Ford; sisters: Lily and husband Tom West, and Regina Loveday; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors and professionals who cared for Ralph, with respect and dignity, during his illness. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 7th from 6-8pm at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Michael Vincent, Rev. Mike Lee, and Chaplain Steve Gillespie officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11am on Thursday March 8th at Eastview Memorial Gardens for the entombment service.
