Jett, Lowell Adrian –age 79, of South Knoxville, went home to rest from his labors Saturday, September 1, 2007. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church for 55 years and served as a deacon for many years. Retired from East Tennessee Baptist Hospital with 41 years of service where he worked in the Plant Engineering Department. He dearly loved his home and family. Preceded in death by parents, Rondow C. Jett and Lillian Augusta Hood Jett.
Survivors
Survived by wife of 59 years, Lucy Jett; sons, Steven and wife, Susan of Germany, Daniel and wife, Cappy of Knoxville, Philip and wife, Debra of Maryville, Ted Mack and wife, Pam of Knoxville; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Danielle, Matthew, Sarah, Max, Shannon and Rusty; great-grandchildren, Daunte, Vanessa and Emma; brothers, James, R.C., Gordon, Charles, and Gary Jett; sisters, Anna Mary Smith, Doris Brown and Donna Suddarth; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; good friend, Ivan Smith.
Service
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering c/o Valley Grove Baptist Church designated in memory of Lowell Jett, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Tuesday, Valley Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Keith Vaughn, Rev. Jeff Spangler and Dr. Steven Jett officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Cemetery on Wednesday for 1:00 PM interment services. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. The family will receive friend from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
