Audley Edward Garner, age 81, born and raised in Maryville, most recently retired and residing in Hendersonville with his daughter. He was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War having earned three Bronze Service Stars during his service for our country. The family will have his awards on display during the visitation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Annie Green Garner; parents, Carl and Della Reagan Garner; sisters, Cleo Davis and Anna Mae Burchfield; and brother, Ronnie Garner. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jan E. and Ron E. Elliott; brothers, David, Doug, Ed, and Herman Garner; sisters, Agnes Romines, Catherine Haun, and Shirley Henry; grandchildren, Christina Nuchols, Benjamin Elliott, and Chad Elliott; great-grandson, Christian Nuchols; special pet, Simon Blue; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Graveside service and interment will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Maryville, (865) 982-9041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
