David James Kisabeth, Sr., 67, of Hanahan, died March 3, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Manor. David was born on April 29, 1947 in Northville, MI to the late Robert McClellan Kisabeth, Sr. and Jimmie Joye Harris Kisabeth. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Robin Heatley of Hanahan; and a brother, Dr. Charles William Kisabeth of Charleston. Survivors include: children, David James, of Dallas, TX and Katelyn Rene of Hanahan; brothers, Dr. Robert McCellan Kisabeth, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Newport, TN, Craig Kisabeth and wife, Connie, of Jefferson City, TN, Steven Kisabeth and wife, Pam, of Zanesville, OH. David was a highly decorated soldier of the Vietnam War assigned as a Staff Sargent to the famed 4th Infantry Division - 1/22 HHC (4.2 Mortar Platoon), Company B. He served as a forward observer for Company B from March 1967 to March 1968. David earned the following Medals for his service to our country in Vietnam: Nation Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, 1 o/s Bar, Expert (Pistol .45) and (Rifle M-14), Combat Infantryman Badge (1st Award). He was also a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was the Captain of his HS football team and an Eagle Scout advanced 2 Palms. He played college football at Tennessee Tech. He was a highly decorated Army soldier and Staff Sergeant during one of the most tumultuous periods of the Vietnam War, the 1968 Tet Offensive. He served under and was publicly recognized by General William C. Westmorland. He was the son of a WWII hero. He was a sales executive with Clyde Rudd and Associates, Phillip Morris and FedEx. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 5th at 3.00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 2.00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Funeral services provided by Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations.
