Mary Elizabeth Graves Finger Coulter Isbill age 96 of Maryville passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mary was born on July 13, 1911. She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church. Mary loved to cook. At Christmas, she made cream candy and stack fruit cakes to give to friends and neighbors. She enjoyed having her family around her for reunions and visits. Preceded in death by her husband Gordon Richard Finger who passed away on January 17, 1944 at the age of 32; and son, Richard Finger; her parents, Houston and Viola Houser Graves; brothers, Clifford, Raymond, Nile and Arthur; sons-in-law, Stevenson Merle Cardwell, Jr. and Arthur Baker. Survivors include her sister, Lee Whitehead of Hermitage, TN; daughters, Anna Mae Cardwell Baker of Maryville, Bonnie (Harold) Marine of Fairfax, VA, Ruby (Farris) Sandifur of Friendsville, Betty (Marvin) Ingalsbe of Madison, GA, daughter-in-law, Betsy Finger of New Albany, IN; grandchildren, Gary and Barbara Cardwell of NY, Dick and Pat Cardwell of OH, Mary and Gale Hamilton of MI, Jim Cardwell of OH, Joy and Helmi Banegas of VA, Danny and Geraldine Keaton of Madisonville, Darlene and Rick Stanley of MO, Robin and Ray Harrill of Maryville, Cheryl and Rev. Bryan Alexander of GA, Debbie and Jim Sebastian of IN, Mary Jo and Rev. Billy Haselton of NC, David and Debbie Ingalsbe of GA, Dana Burdin of IN, Richard Lee Finger of IN; 25 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and ten step-great grandchildren. Mary married Houston Coulter on December 31, 1956. He passed away in November of 1983. She is survived by three step children, Carolyn (Bill) Stancliff, of MD, Adrian (Martha) Coulter of CA, Pat (Gary) Weaver of NV; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. On June 18, 1986, Mary and Stanley Isbill were married. He passed away on August 22, 2004. She is survived by three step children, Earl (Marilyn) Isbill of Maryville, Helen (Ben) Talbott of NC, Norma Sue (Tim) Tyler of Morristown; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Inez Graves of Maryville; Maude (Elden) Finger Bivens of Friendsville; brother-in-law, Ben (Reba) Finger of Friendsville, and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers Della Mae Auer, Geraldine Keaton, Marsha Graves, Linda Hutchens, Cassi Wilkerson, and to CRU at Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. David Webster, Rev. Keith Johnson and Rev. Bryan Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Zion’s Chapel Cemetery in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2330 Chesterfield Dr, Maryville, TN, 37803 or East Maryville Baptist Church Building Fund, 1150 Brown School Road, Maryville, TN 37804.
