Chase Cannon accepted into Air Force Academy Chase Andrew Cannon, a senior at Alcoa High School, has been accepted by the United States Air Force Academy. Chase is the grandson of Selma Ogle of Newport. Author: Duay O'Neil ALCOA-The grandson of a Newport woman has been accepted by the United States Air Force Academy. Chase Andrew Cannon, who recently signed with the Academy's gymnastics team, is the son of Randy and Patsy Cannon of Louisville. He is the grandson of Selma Ogle of Newport, the late Edgar Grooms of Cosby and the late Fred Ogle of Newport, and the late Ralph and Nola Cannon of Maryville. A senior at Alcoa High School, Chase is ranked fourth in his graduating class. At school, he received the Alcoa Triple A Award (academics, attitude, and attendance), a four-year Academic Excellence Top 10 award, has been an A Honor Roll student every semester, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Knoxville Area Achievers, Student Council, Key Club, an officer in FCA, and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America).
