(May 11, 1932 - April 15, 2010) Betty Aileen (Lee) Menzies, age 77, of Newport, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Mercy West in Knoxville. She was a daughter of the late S. A. and Zora Goodnough Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Menzies; son, Tony Mitchell; granddaughter, Clarinda Damron; and brother, Kermit Lee. She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Dave) Wilson, of Sevierville; son Steve (Tammi) Mitchell, of Bluefield, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jared Mitchell, of Huntingdon, West Virginia, Mandy Mitchell, of Bluefield, West Virginia, Stephanie Nicole Damron, of Seymour and Rhonda Martinez, of Germany; five great grandchildren; sister, Helen Bush of Newport; brothers, Fred (Juanita) Lee, of Parrottsville; Robert (Sylvia) Lee, of Greenville, SC; stepsons, Patrick and Peter Menzies, of Colorado; two nieces; one nephew; and many friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Craig Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Manes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Building Fund, 234 Lincoln Avenue, Newport, TN 37821. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
