September 21, 1926 - April 13, 2015 Dorothy (Dot) Ownby, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. She graduated from Farragut High School. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Rocky Hill Baptist church. Dot was a devoted and loving wife until her husband Ralph Ownby passed away in 2009 after 57 years together. Dot had two daughters who she steadfastly supported, encouraged and loved with all her heart. She will be missed. Dot is survived by her children Gail Warner and her husband Roy Warner of Oxnard, California, Jane Nauman and her husband Zeke Nauman of Knoxville, Tennessee, and her granddaughters, Hannah Nauman of Knoxville, Tennessee and Casey Kerr of Anchorage, Alaska. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters (Marjorie, Clarice, Max, Henry, Ruth, Paul, Ray and Ralph) and several nieces and nephews. A very heartfelt thank you goes to Vanessa Finney, who faithfully cared for her in her last weeks and to Knoxville Smoky Mountain Hospice Services. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5313 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rocky Hill Baptist Church “Young at Heart”.
