(March 3, 1920 - March 25, 2015) U.S. Veteran Bruce Elmer Gregg, age 95, of Newport, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. Bruce was the last surviving child of twenty-four and was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gregg; children, Lester Gregg and Grace Bible; granddaughter, Melinda Kay Rathbone; also eleven brothers and twelve sisters. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Judean Gregg of Bybee; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Trevor Burgess of Dandridge; special grandson and caregiver, Brian Rathbone and his fiancée Robin Gaps of Newport; grandchildren, Larue Gregg and Bruce Gregg of Bybee and Ricky Gregg and (Vickie) of Newport; Brent Gregg of Newport, Brena Ross, of North Carolina, Blake Gregg of Dandridge, Tara B. Martin (Bart) of Newport; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and special friend, Jim Self. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015 followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating.
