GARNER, LAVAN SHULER - age 74 of Maryville, passed away Thursday morning, July 15, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, George and Maude Shuler; brother, Dillard Shuler. Survivors: husband, James E. Garner; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Wayne Stephenson, Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Sammie Garner, Maryville; grandchildren, Christy Stephenson and Tim Stephenson; sisters, DeLynn Caylor and Barbara Shuler, both of Townsend; brothers, Ralph, Doil, and Vance Shuler, all of Townsend; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Glen Key officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Chilhowee View Cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
