Mr. George S. Eubank, age 73 of Newport passed away Monday evening, June 25, 2007 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a descendant of one of the first pioneer families of Cocke County. Mr. Eubank graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1955, where he was a member of the ROTC. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army Engineering Corp. in France. Mr. Eubank was last employed as a mechanical engineer for Forenta in Morristown, for 25 years. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Eubank was a past member of the Toastmasters Association. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Arleigh Eubank; parents, William and Bonnie Eubank, and brother, William Mims Eubank. He is survived by his spouse, Beatrice Eubank of the home; children, Lisa Dale Eubank and Lauren Rosanna Eubank both of Newport; daughter-in-law, Beth Perryman Eubank of Newport; sisters, Betty Jean Burch and Teta Eubank Wagoner both of Oak Ridge; sisters-in-law, Arlene Feidt of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Sheila Eubank of Knoxville; nieces, Kimberly Dumphy of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Jennifer Eubank Zackoski of Knoxville; nephew, Gerald Feidt Jr. of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2007 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Loftis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Union Cemetery for the 11 a.m. interment. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home, prior to the service. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
