Ella Lucy Rogers, age 64, of Knoxville, died Sunday April 14, 2013 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Although she will be dearly missed, “Our Loss is Heaven’s Gain.” She was preceded in death by her infant son; parents, Hugh and Rilda Finchum; brother, Hugh Finchum Jr., Dennis Finchum. Survivors include her fiancé, Verlin Gideon; son, Steven Rogers; daughter, Tiffany Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Stanley Cates; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sandy Finchum, Fred and Sandy Finchum; sisters, Brenda Dyer, Annis Faye Bowlin, Donna Roe; granddaughter, Emily Cates; special nephew, Jeffrey Dyer; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the Dotson Wildwood Chapel with Wayne Justice officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at New Loyston Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Dotson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to assist with funeral and burial expenses.
