U.S. Veteran Baker, Arthur F. (Ott) (Big Moe), age 86 of Miser Station, passed away Tuesday evening, June 19, 2007 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He was a life long member and Deacon Emeritus of Friendsville First Baptist Church. Retired from Alcoa and a member of the 25 year club. A veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. Preceded in death by wife of 35 years, Helen Rogers Baker; sons-in-law, Bill Parton and Chris McDowell; parents, Edd and Ella Baker; sisters, Lillian Arp, Irene Wilson, Mary Hunt, and Maude McClure; brother, Jay Baker; brother-in-law, Richard Finger, and father-in-law, Stanley Isbill. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Anna Mae Finger Cardwell Baker; five Baker girls, Sonja (Ted) Campbell of Seymour, Gail (Lester) Shope of Thomasville, GA, Donna Parton and Vickie McDowell both of Gatlinburg, Helen Arthur Kay Baker of Joanna, SC; four step children, Gary (Barbara) Cardwell of Niskayuna, NY, Dick (Pat) Cardwell of Whitehouse, OH, Mary (Gale) Hamilton of Monroe MI, Jim Cardwell of Whitehouse, OH; grandchildren, Shane (Kim) Hall, Sharon (Greg) Watson, Billy (Lisa) Parton, Jon (Linda) Martin, Rusty (Elizabeth) Keaton, Paul McDowell, and Meredith McDowell; great grandchildren, Helen Alyse Hall, Ashleigh Watson, Austin Watson, Avery Watson, Luke Parton, and Aiden Watson; mother-in-law, Mary Isbill of Maryville; sisters-in-law, Ruby Sandifur of Friendsville, Betty Ingalsbe of Madison, GA, and Bonnie Marine of Fairfax, VA; step grandchildren, Gale Ann (Mike) Nickels, Jenny Hamilton, Tonya Hamilton, Andy Cardwell, Jeff Cardwell, and Laura Cardwell; step great grandchildren, Ashleigh Hamilton, Brittany Liptow, Courtney Liptow, and Sofie Cardwell; former son-in-law, Jimmy Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Miller Funeral Home, Cedar Chapel, Dr. Mark Grubb, Rev. Glenn Grubb, and Rev. Greg Watson officiating. The Interment will follow at Middlesettlements Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arthur Baker’s name to Friendsville First Baptist Church (403 N. Farnum Street, Friendsville TN 37737) Honorary Pall Bearers with be the Deacons at Friendsville First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
