Cosby resident Trula Agnes Knight, 83, died Friday, August 14, at her home in Cosby. She was born on August 29, 1914, in Cosby. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dewey Williams. Agnes was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dawson Spurgeon and John Knight. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Harold Otto of Citra, Florida; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Betty Spurgeon of New Market, Donald Spurgeon of Cosby and David and Tammy Spurgeon of Cosby; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Case of South Carolina, Omalene and Clyde Spurgeon of Sevierville, and Jean Jenkins of Sevierville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Elmore Williams of Sevierville and Vernal and Thelma Williams of Cosby; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family received friends Sunday, August 16, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank Bell officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
