Phillip “Phil” Ray Forster, age 66, of Maryville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member and deacon of Liberty Baptist Church, and was retired from Coca-Cola Enterprises. He loved his church and church family, as well as, hunting and his hunting buddies. He loved and enjoyed spending quality time with his 3 grandsons on the home farm. Mr. Forster was preceded in death by his father, Leroy H. “Hoopie” Forster. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Phyllis Forster; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Stephanie Forster; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mark Leitch; grandchildren, Brandon and Britton Leitch, and David Forster; mother, Thelma Forster; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Lloyd Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Lovella Forster, David and Mary Forster, Dwight and Dottie Forster; brothers-in-law and wives, Darryl and Vickie Downey and Wendell and Connie Downey; special friend, Bill Chambers; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. Alvin Patton, Rev. Fred Tate, and Rev. Ben Ward officiating. Interment service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
