Bill attended Oak City Baptist Church where he was a member. Mr. Gibson worked for Fredrickson Motor Freight and retired from Estes Motor Express where he had many friends. Bill was well liked by everyone and he loved to tease people. Bill and Brenda spent their winter months in Florida where they have a host of friends and family with whom he loved to play shuffleboard. He loved to do tractor work and ride his motorcycle. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernie and Estelle Gibson; son Bart Gibson; sister and brother-in-law Hazel and John Boling; brother and sister-in-law Hubert and Willie Ray Gibson He is survived by his wife Brenda Hardin Gibson, with whom he shared 52 years; sons Conley (Buster) Gibson and Brad and Tammy Gibson; grandchildren Jennifer and husband Shane Patterson, Nicholas Gibson and friend Ashley; brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence and Carolyn Gibson, Gene and Bobbie Gibson; sisters Lucy Clark and Mayme Case; extended family members Linda Watts Whaley, Tim Welch and Marty Vest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seven Islands Cemetery Association, 7604 Seven Islands Rd. Knoxville, TN 37920 or may be placed in a drop box at the cemetery during the graveside service. Funeral service 8 PM Monday, at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Brian Creswell and Rev.
