Mildred “Jo” Hickman, age 84, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and a longtime Sunday School Teacher. She was past Worthy Matron of the Prudence Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Hickman; parents, Charles and Nora Ditmore; and several brothers, Hubert, Max, and Frances. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Vicki Hickman of Maryville, Darryl and Helen Hickman of Centreville, Virginia, and Mike and Becky Hickman of Maryville; grandchildren, Shane and Kim Hickman of Maryville, Todd Hickman of Maryville, Nikki and Jeremy Lile of Maryville, Josh and Marlise Hickman, and Clark Hickman all of Centreville, Virginia, Stephanie Ogle and Ryan Hickman both of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Chase Hickman , Benjamin Harrison Hickman, Marley Faith Hickman; sisters, June Akin and Reba Heuser; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 10088, Knoxville TN 37939-9910 or to Blount Memorial Foundation (Hospice Care), 907 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville TN 37804. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Jerry Mantooth and Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
