Dennis R. Harmon age 68 of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 19, 2008. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A devoted servant to his Lord & Savior he had a real heart for the less fortunate and those in need. For the last ten years he did a weekly prayer walk through the Halls area each Saturday and gave away countless Bibles. He spent many Sunday afternoons conducting church services for the residents at the Morningside Transitional Care Facility and was a faithful member of RIO East Church. He was born in Los Angeles, CA to the late Elsie Mixon Harmon & Dr. Ralph Harmon. Also preceded in death by: Sister, Sandra. Dennis graduated from George Washington High School and the University of Southern California, where he was an All-American baseball player. He was a self-employed insurance agent. He had a real passion for football and specifically, Alcoa High School Football, where he never missed a game. Left to mourn his passing are: wife, Edna Kelley Nix Harmon; Sons, Scott (Shelley) Harmon of Summerville, GA and Brian (Brooke) Nix of Maryville; Grandchildren, Jason Harmon, Jessica Deyton, Jennifer Whitt, Shawn & Tiffany Harmon all of GA; Great-Grandchildren, Alexia & Kelsei Deyton of GA. He greatly loved his dogs, geese, ducks and wildlife and was an accomplished artist. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his family, friends, Christian brothers and sisters, and all the other lives he touched. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at RIO East with funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM.
