Hazel Skidmore White, 87, passed away at Cane Creek Rehab Center in Martin, TN June 29, 2007. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm and services will follow at Miller’s Funeral Home on Friday, July 6. The Rev. Steve Whitehead and Rev. Beecher Whitehead will officiate. Burial will be at Tuckaleechee Methodist Cemetery at 10 am on Saturday. She was born October 9, 19l9 in Townsend, TN, daughter of John and Marie Skidmore. She was a long time resident of Happy Valley, a member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church and president of the Happy Valley Community Club for many years. For the past six years she lived on her son’s farm in Kenton, TN. She is survived by her son, Wayne H. Grant of Kenton, a daughter, Charlotte Sylvia of Maryille, a sister, Sue Atkins of Lenior City, TN, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A son, Harold E. Grant, and seven brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
