- Lived on a farm near Eureka, Michigan until 1903 when they came to Boulder
County, Colorado. They settled near Eldorado Springs where Mr. Manchester was
employed as a Ditch Rider for the Coal Creek Ditch Company. Eldorado Springs
was a lively tourist attraction at that time and he also worked there. They
built a stone house 1 1/2 milse north of the school and lived there until 1912
when they moved to the farm next door to Valmont School. Four daughters and a
son .
