Gladys Evelyn “Granny” Walker age 77 of Friendsville went to heaven on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. She was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Husband of 51 years, Clarence Odell “Cas” Walker; Parents, Arlie & Zula Free; Sister, Marie Lankford; Infant Brother, Troy Free; Brothers, Edgar Free, Stephen Free, and Norman Free. Survivors include: Sister, Ruth Halk of Asbury Nursing Home, Maryville; Brother & Sister-in-law, Ray & Barbara Free of Missouri; Daughter & Son-in-law, Gail & Gary Roberson of Friendsville; Son & Daughter-in-law, Andy & Melodie Walker of Maryville; Three greatly loved grand-daughters, Carrie Ann & husband Mike McLemore of Friendsville along with Brianna & Sierra Walker of Maryville; Two deeply cherished great-granddaughters, Leann & Amber McLemore of Friendsville; Sisters-in-law, Bea Free & Ann Staley; Special niece, Shirley Hatcher of Louisville; many other nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many beloved friends and neighbors one of whom, Rick Harrill, became exceptionally close by finishing a lot of those picture puzzles she started. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Smith West Chapel with funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Chris Boruff officiating. Interment will follow at Zions Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville.
